Hello and Welcome to The Friends of St. Nicholas' Chantry!
We are the PTA for St Nicholas’ Chantry; an independent organisation which exists to raise funds to provide an improved learning environment for children at the school above and beyond what would be covered in the school budget, and to foster social connections between parents, carers and teachers.
It is made up of a Committee (including Chair, Head Teacher, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Officer, Volunteer Coordinator and Committee Members), Volunteers and Members. Membership is automatically afforded to all parents, carers and staff at St. Nicks School and all Members are welcome to be as involved as they wish - we're always looking for volunteers to help run the various events throughout the year! And if you'd like to be on the Committee please get in touch.
Events include the Summer Fair, Quiz Nights, a Christmas event, Christmas parties and School Discos for the children, Easter Bingo, Bags2School, various cake sales and we also provide refreshments for the school drama productions. The aim is to enjoy ourselves, make new friends and raise funds for the school in the process.
As well as funding large headline projects such as Copse Corner, iPads for the classrooms and the wooden play structure on the school field, we also subsidise school trips and provide a hardship fund for the Year 6 leavers' camp, buy book bags for the new Foundation children and fund smaller requests from teachers from PE equipment to gardening to cameras. Our current big project is a complete revamp and transformation of the school library.
The committee meets every month or two to discuss plans and we have an AGM early in the school year, which is open to all Members (that’s all parents, carers and staff at St. Nicks).
We look forward to seeing you all at our events soon!
